The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) is one of the largest Christian denominations in the U.S., with nearly 3.3 million members across 8,900 worshiping communities in all 50 states and the Caribbean. With such a broad and diverse membership, the ELCA understands the importance of clear, compelling design to communicate its mission and connect with both current members and potential new audiences.
I had the opportunity to work on the Boundless newsletter, a key communication piece sent to the entire ELCA membership. This full-color, self-mailer publication is 8.5 x 11 inches and typically runs 20–24 pages per issue. Each edition highlights powerful stories of impact, showing how member donations are making a difference in communities around the world.
My role included layout design, visual storytelling, and ensuring that the publication aligned with the ELCA’s brand identity while remaining engaging and accessible. The goal was to create a visually cohesive piece that not only informs but also inspires readers to stay connected and continue supporting the church’s global mission.
