JVI is one of those clients that really enjoy what they do and really get involved in every aspect. Every year they have a booth at the PCI Convention and every year they have a lot of fun spoofing the city in which the convention is being held. The owner and staff enjoy dressing up and make an appearance on the opening day and they are alway a big hit.
In 2022 the convention was held in Kansas City and they decided to spoof the Wizard of OZ. Now Kansas City is not Kansas but JVI loved the idea of that being part of the joke. With the idea in place, it was decided early on to spoof one of the movie posters from the release of the original movie. The addition of the platypus in place of Toto brings in the PCI Foundation mascot which JVI founded is a big supporter of still.
The characters are always kept in secret until the time they appear at the photoshoots and final ads are all done last minute to keep anything from leaking. The Models were located in different parts of the country so close attention had to paid to the camera set-ups of the different photographers and their varying skill levels, so arranging and directing photoshoots was extremely important so the photos could be composited together to give the appearance the characters were interacting with each other. Costumes are close but makeup work needs varied depending on the models ability, so close attention to the retouching of the photos is imperative in creating final artwork that achieves the final affect for the ad and giveaways.
